Gatsby essay prompt 2

In the novel "The Great Gatsby" I learned that Gatsby is obsessed with Daisy. Which made Gatsby seek for desire to win Daisy's love. Gatsby can also symbolize our culture, and even our own desires.
In the novel "The Great Gatsby" we learn about Gatsby. We learn his reasons of why he wanted to become richer to accomplish his desires. Gatsby worked hard to become successful due to the reason that Daisy would not accept him as a poor man.  Gatsby wanted to become richer to win Daisy's love. Jordan said, "Gatsby bought that house so that Daisy would be just across the bay."(page,85) Gatsby used his money to live closer to Daisy to try to achieve his desire to be closer to Daisy. Another example of Gatsby using wealth to seek for desire is, Jordan says, "He wants her to see his house."(page, 85) Gatsby wants to impress Daisy with his mansion. Gatsby would even make huge parties to try and get Daisy's attention. Gatsby is so obsessed for Daisy that he would do mostly everything for Daisy's attention. Once Gatsby found out that Daisy was not amused with his parties he stopped making huge parties.
Gatsby was poor which made him seek for desire for success . The reason of becoming successful was getting accepted by the woman he loves Daisy. Gatsby was making his wealth by owning drug stores and also rumors were said that Gatsby was bootlegging. Does Gatsby ever accomplish his desire? I would say for a bit he did accomplish his desire and then everything went wrong, his desire was crushed. Gatsby was able to get closer to Daisy, and she even went to Gatsby's mansion. Gatsby was even impressing Daisy with his success for example, " Daisy bent her head into the shirt and began to cry stormily. They're such beautiful shirts,' she sobbed, her voice muffled in the thick folds. It makes me sad because I've never seen such-such beautiful shirts."(page,99) This quote shows Gatsby is showing off how much money he has more than Tom, husband of Daisy and Gatsby also shows off his pool. It can also show how Daisy likes expensive clothing. Then everything went wrong when Daisy killed Myrtle, mistress of Tom. Gatsby took the blame of the murder of Myrtles death and lastly his dream of being with Daisy was crushed Gatsby was killed by George Wilson in his pool.
How Gatsby can also symbolize our culture, and even our own desires can be wealth is equivalent to happiness, and getting what you want. An example from our culture can be a reality T.V show can be 90 day fiance. It's about a guy named Jorge and a girl he loves Anfisa. Anfisa is from another country and she was convinced to move to the U.S  by Jorge. Jorge promised that he would buy her anything she wanted any desires. Later on Jorge couldn't pay for Anfisa desires and was left due that Jorge didn't have a lot money. How Gatsby and Jorge relate is that both wanted to become rich to gain someones love. Neither of them stayed with their love.
At the end Gatsby's success was not enough for Daisy. Gatsby can symbolize our culture, because having money  can buy you  your desires, but not always get the attention of a woman.
